Send to>Bluetooth device.

When I right-click a file, and navigate to the "Send to" menu, the top option is "Bluetooth device".
Does this mean my PC is equipped with Bluetooth, or is the Send to option installed by default, irrespective of whether the PC is equipped or not?
If the former, where would I find the option, to pair devices to the PC?

It might or it might not, check for anything Bluetooth related in the control panel.
Don't get over excited either, Bluetooth on Windows PCs is all but useless.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

On investigation, it appears I don't have Bluetooth on my PC.

When I go to PC Settings>Devices on my Laptop, in then left hand column, there's a line entitled "Bluetooth", but that line is missing on my PC.
Given what you say, about Bluetooth being "all but useless", can I take it I'd be wasting a pound, if I bought one?0 -

I bought several, with high hopes of BT streaming audio from my PC to my stereo downstairs, it took hours to find a set of drivers that barely worked and when it finally did, it then wanted drivers for the BT audio device I was connecting to (which don't exist).
Connecting to it from Android was entirely painless, so I put my audio onto my tablet and used that instead.
Even the BT on my laptop is useless, it'll do file transfers and that's about it, but I can do file transfers via WiFi that are 10x faster.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

That's pretty much all I want it for, transferring photos from my phone.
ATM, I have to either file transfer to my Hudl, then email to my PC, or keep removing the Micro SD Card, put it in an adapter, insert it into the SD Reader on my PC, and transfer to the PC.but I can do file transfers via WiFi that are 10x faster.
I don't think my phone has WiFi.0 -

Usually a mix of a cheap Bluetooth module and an inadequate Bluetooth Stack.
Spend £4 on a module that conforms to the latest spec and utilise the Toshiba Stack, which supports the protocols you need.
Likely your issue was an inadequate Stack.0 -

You must be using a fairly old phone then
The way I transfer files is using a program called SwiFTP for Android, which turns the phone into an FTP server and then I use FireFTP for Firefox to access the phone and do the transfers.
I could also set up a periodic automatic FTP transfer of all my phones files to my actual FTP server, but I find this can be a bit of a pain when i'm on mobile data.
BT should do your file transfer, give a cheap BT dongle a go, at worst you can just roll back your PC a few days if it screws anything up.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Not old, just basic. The way I transfer files is using a program called SwiFTP for Android, which turns the phone into an FTP server and then I use FireFTP for Firefox to access the phone and do the transfers.
It's not an Android phone.0 -
I bought a cheap one to transfer pictures from my phone. It works. It normally takes a while to transfer pictures because I rarely use it and always forget to plug it in and then waste time figuring out whats wrong with the stupid bluetooth before remembering to plug it in. Bit of a gross generalisation there, Strider! I've had the odd problem with bluetooth drivers, but when it works, it's very useful for connecting a mouse, keyboard, sending files, bluetooth headsets...0 -

It because he never used a decent Bluetooth stack that supported all protocols, so never got the best from the module.0
