Why would you think redundancy would mean she won't be able to get an agents property?

Redundancy does not show up in a credit check...any credit check, let alone the in credibly basic check a letting agent can carry out

All they will be able to see is if she has any ccjs or bankruptcy....If she is planning to not pay council tax then I would recommend she gets a new property or house share sooner rather than later, before that does end up with a CCJ for non payment and it does cause issues.

Also, if she is entitled to benefits but isn't claiming them she needs to get of her backside and start the process - her principles won't put food on the table or pay the rent.

Just noticed in your first post 'has just got new job '

She needs to come on here and post a statement of affairs

then we can get a better idea of what she might be able to claim (if anything) and put some sort of plan together for moving forward

She thinks she wont pass agency credit checks due to arrears, Late payment markers for the last three months.. she has not paid rent for 2 months or BT or Mobile. She says what letting agent would rent to someone if they can see she has not paid the last two months rent?

Thank you she has no internet etc. Basically she wanted to know how best to spend her wage of £800

Should she pay all bills this month where she can and not the rent? or should she pay all bills £1 each and put the £600 towards rent or save it.

If it was me I'd pay the car up for 6 months , council tax and all other creditor's a token payment or even save the rest for when I get evicted (!) which I would guess is imminent.

Thanks for all your efforts everyone.

Council tax is a priority debt so that should be paid first. They could demand all of it right away. In extreme cases, there is a prison sentence involved for non-payment although not right away. This will be when it has not been paid rather than could not be paid and they may argue that is the case if they pay the car debt.
