Suggestions for temporary savings

I'm saving £500/month for a wedding at the end of July of 2017. My current plan is to to put it in a savings account (half on HSBC regular saver, the rest on a lower interest account) until the day and then pay as many expenses as possible with a cashback card.

Does anyone have a better suggestion?

You might open a Nationwide Flexdirect account so that you can access the 5% Flexsaver as well as your HSBC saver.

And the Flexdirect will be 5% too, unless they've cut it...
