Can anybody recommend a good book for potential new landlord?

We're thinking of buying a property we can't move into immediately so will need to rent it out for a few years.
Things have changed a lot since the last time we rented out a house (15 years ago), can anybody recommend a good book so we can educate ourselves about the responsibilities/pitfalls.
TIA.

You might have a few hurdles to overcome before you can buy a BTL property.
Broker, accountant, local letting agents can all help you buy the right property in the right area with the best mortgage, unless you have cash ?0 -
Join NLA or RLA and do one of their one day landlord introduction courses.
It will save you more in time &money than it costs you.
Beware snake-oil get-rich-quick books and seminars0 -

We should be OK on the finance front, it's the technicalities of being a landlord we need to brush up on.Make £2025 in 2025

Any recommendation as to whether NLA or RLA would be best for us? We're in England if that makes any difference.Make £2025 in 2025

* Deposits: payment, protection and return
* Ending/renewing an AST: what happens when a fixed term ends? How can a LL or tenant end a tenancy? What is a periodic tenancy?
* Rent increases: when & how can rent be increased?
* Repossession: what if a LL's mortgage lender repossesses the property?
* New landlords: advice, information & links
* Letting agents: how should a landlord select or sack?0 -
In Wales, you now have compulsory registration, attendance and examination before being able to apply for licence. All cost substantial sums and the stories you hear of distress and damage (mainly by people with one inherited house as their pension plan) are a deterrent for most.0
