When to Switch?
I am presently on EON's MSE tariff ending on 23 Sept 2016.
So far the best cashback tariff through UK power is SSE V8 fixed with £30 cashback.
Should I set the change in motion now or wait until nearer the 23 Sept?
Also I am going on holiday on the 30 Sept for 12 days and since I will be on a cruise ship I will not be accessing the internet and will be totally incommunicado.:j

Yes, you can start a switch now without fear of any early exit fees.
Consult a comparison site to find the best deal for you.
Do not base your decision on cashback offered. (you can get more than £30 for a dual fuel switch from many suppliers if you follow the advice in the MSE articles.Don't forget to consider single fuel suppliers as they are often cheaper, and you can get more than £15 cashback for single fuel switches from many suppliers)

As footyguy says r2015, you'll be okay to start a switch now. As your tariff ends on 23 September 16, you'll be in the Price Protection window. This means a switch started now won't pick up an exit fee.
The Price Protection window is open 49 calendar days before a tariff ends until 20 working days after. During this time and provided we're told, we'll make sure you stay on the same prices as now and, as above, aren't hit by an exit fee.
Hope this helps r2015 and happy cruising.
