    When you marry, you make a new will.

    When you take out a mortgage you consider a life insurance policy.

    In the midst of life we are in death.....

    No need to make a new will when you marry, if you are old will contains a suitable clause and your circumstances haven't changed, would have been the default a few decades ago but the world is different these days.

    A life insurance policy would normally be considered due to other circumstances than taking out a mortgage, key trigger is financial position and dependent rather than buying a property and taking on a mortgage. No need for a single person to take out a life insurance policy with a mortgage for example.

    :question::question::question:
    You have no utility bills set up on there to take advantage of the cashback...which would negate the fee? That's pretty unusual.

    I only have a phone bill. Even then, its £5 so I could switch the DD, just haven't got round to it! I wouldn't say its that unusual! Also, perhaps people are using Natwest for their cashback too :question::question::question:

    Is death _pale_ really at the top of people's minds when doing something as mundane as paying utility bills ?

    How depressing.

    Maybe one of the banks should do a survey to find out. You know,

    Q.
    When setting up a DD, which is most important?

    A.
    a) Ease of use
    b) Helpfulness of staff
    c) Implications of death

    Maybe their marketing departments are missing a trick.

    Nothing is certain, except death and taxes:(
