Best eye cream

I find lots of eye creams make my eyes water.

I like Gatineau Defilift, I was wondering if I could find anything I liked as much even a little cheaper. Or a bigger pot for the money (same thing I guess).

I was just after the lifting effect, but I think I need something for lines too.

I tried this recently as I thought it wouldn't make my eyes water, it doesn't, but it doesn't seem very rich either.

So I need richer than this.
I might have to suck up the price & get the Gatineau. It's such a tiny bottle - 15ml & I'm not sure it all comes out with the pump design.

  • Staying with the LRP theme, I like this one.

It is a more targeted product containing Retinol.

With the LRP one you already have, put a good amount on at night (use it like a treatment) and you should get the richness you need. I have very dry skin around my eyes and it is a godsend to me.

Alternatively, another French pharmacy brand, Vichy products are always reliable.

I've not tried the eye cream but the moisturiser is amazing, so I'd expect the same from this.
  • I need something for puffiness. I have seen some creams advertised but they are very expensive, which I don't mind if they really work. Does anyone use this type of cream and can reccomend it?

My friend uses origins ginzing for puffy eyes - really rates it.

It's better for your eyes to put on many smaller layers (2-3 sort of thing) over time rather than one dense version as you can end up with milla, puffiness and dull skin which then needs exfoliation and that in itself can cause damage and then more fine lines because the skin there is so so delicate and has little collagen unlike the rest of the skin on your face.

If you are looking for a cheaper version of anything, I'd suggest Olay and if your skin isn't as fickle as mine, Boots No.7, both of who have had really good ratings by both consumers and experts.

Multiple layers aren't possible, I put my eye cream on under my make up on & go out to work in the morning & at night I put my eye cream on & go to sleep.

    Start applying earlier?

But seriously, what I said wasn't advice it was an idea- the reason I said what I did I later explained in the rest of my message if you want to read through.

If you do choose to go with a heavy eye cream (if you do find one as the whole idea of eye creams is that they are not heavy for the same reasons I've explained hence why you're finding only thinner creams) if you do find something especially heavy, just be on your guard to look out for the things I've already mentioned because they are just as likely to lead to damaged skin, loss of elasticity and so more fine lines just as much if not more as if you weren't wearing anything.

The Gatineau defilift isn't thick, but it's still very moisturising.

When I say rich, I mean ones that feel like they are working - the la Roche one doesn't.

I'd like to find a cheaper version of defilift!

    Okay silly question?

Are you putting it too close to your eyes?

You are suppose to tap it round the brow bone only, under the eye where it joins the cheek bone. Not right up to the actual eye.

I put it all over eyes, I can with defilift & the la Roche.

You can put them all over the eye area.

Yes, but you might be sensitive to some of the ingredients. Look at the ingredients in both of these and see what they have in common. Then go to Boots or even M&S and buy a cheap eye cream without the common ingredients and see if that makes a difference.
