Urgent. Anyone fitted an Ikea Metod kitchen?

Urgent help would be much appreciated.
We are in the process of fitting our new kitchen. In Ikea we were told that the cover panels are the right size to fit a standard 60cm deep unit in depth, and only need to be cut to length. We tried putting one up against the only tall cabinet which we have, and the wall rail seems to be pushing it out at the top. At the bottom it looks okay. Once the door is on it should sit about level with it, but at the top it's out by about 2cm.
Do we need to trim a bit to fit over the rails (both middle and lower rail) or should it be okay by the time we screw it in place? One one side the cuts wouldn't be seen, but they would be visible on the other side. At the minute it is just resting on the floor as we were too knackered last night to wrestle with it and didn't want to start cutting at 11pm for the neighbours' sake.
Any help would be gratefully received. Worktop template guy is booked for 5pm today and this is the last bit which needs to be done before he arrives.

Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

I've moved house since mine was fitted, but dont recall the installer mentioning any hassles.
Would you be able to see a youtube video, of installation taking place...there are several on line.

You need to cut the panel around the hanging rail. Panels at the end of the run should have the rail set back. Panel should overhang the door by a few mmHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0

+1 cut the panel if its mid run. At the end of a run you should make sure the rail ends before the panel.0
