There could be many reasons, but that's no reason to tar every homeless person with the "potential rapist" brush any more than anyone else you might let into your house. Presumably if there are children the adults are present too and they will be making their own judgements about him anyway, as we all do for all sorts of people whether they live in a mansion or a caravan.

People can be made homeless for many reasons. To suggest it's their own fault they're homeless is very hurtful and narrowminded.

I ran away from home due to violence at 17 and was made homeless. I moved to a different town and was "advised" I needed to live there for 6 months before I could even put my name on the council housing list. Therefore I was homeless with no job or roof over my head. Luckily I became friends with a guy who let me stay with him. I found a job and 6 months later (turning 18) I bought a house. And I had no intention of stealing his property, raping him or any other bad things you seem to think homeless people do!

Murtle, have you tried opening a bank account of late? Try walking into a bank and say `I live at 27, Mendip Close, Any Town.` and see if you get full Banking facilities.

You posted that not me. Is there any other slur you would like to hurl in my direction?

you say that you are yet to hear from 'shelter' ... they where FANTASTIC when i was homeless. they them selves do not provide housing to my knowledge but there communication with relative organisations and authorities was second to none - am sure they will be off use. i am happy enjoying life once more in my own (rented) place ... and have never looked back. i sincerely hope he is becomes as fortunate and happy as i am now.

:A :grouphug: well done, you and everyone else should feel very proud of yourselves.

The establishment should hang it's head in shame.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

... and in response to horice (reply 46) ... im afraid i CAN see something wrong with that! whether your assumption is on the basis of it being drugs/crime related - I am a qualified teacher and law abiding citizen and a very decent person. to of been in that situation after being made homeless with a child by my husband was the most difficult time of my life - and not deserved. it was his home first and so he saw it fit for our child and me to leave. unfortunately the best of us end up in this situation as well - which from the intial thread sounds like this gentleman also.

I am of the opinion that many legs are being pulled here.

Shall we start by discussing how a deserving homeless person is able to open a Bank account without the `usual` documentation? i.e proof of identifcation?
