We've been with FD for 20+ years and have 3 Current Accounts, 2 Savings Accounts, 2 Regular Savers, Mortgage and Credit Card and have found them excellent over that period.

Only issue we had was when we went to Tobago for a holiday. Notified them that the CC and Switch card would be used over there for the dates we would be there.

Was noted on account details but nobody told the Fraud Team who blocked the first cash withdrawal we tried to make.

Rang them to query why and it was all sorted out over the phone, cost of mobile calls back to UK refunded and a small compensation payment made for the hassle.

Excellent in my opinion but as said before all organisations have customers who are fans and others who don't have a good word to say about them.

I've had a FD account for a number of years and always found them to be fantastic. The thing I like about FD is that you can just call them up and go straight through to a customer service agent.

It is a world away from trying to contact Natwest, who have you spending 30minutes jumping through automated hoops only to either cut you off or put you through to someone who is oh-so-sorry but they can't help as they are in the wrong department.

I can imagine that opening a new account must be a bit painful, but I understood that all banks wanted to see original paper statements and ID documents these days?
