BT took over phone line without permission

BT screwed up massively and have taken over my phone (without my permission) and subsequently my broadband supplier EE have cancelled my contract without my permission so I am now left with no supplier.

Has anyone had the same experience? How can they get away with this?

I received a letter about a week ago from BT and as stated in the letter I called them to cancel the order and confirm that I was not moving. However, despite what the letter said they told me to contact my supplier. I contacted EE who told me that BT had to cancel the order. On my next call to BT, they confirmed that they had got the address wrong and after noticing the error had requested a transfer of the phone line to the correct address and advised me not to cancel the order as it should correct itself once the line had transferred. I'm guessing now they didn't want the hassle! My broadband was still not working so I called EE who confirmed that my contract had been terminated and that they had charged me a £35 early cancellation fee! Luckily they reimbursed it.

Not only have I been massively inconvenienced because of BT's mistake, but I now have no internet, no supplier and have lost my EE deal. I was paying £13.45 pm for line rental and broadband and now am being told it will be £17.50!

I have written to both BT and EE via resolver. I want EE to reinstate my contract as it was as it was cancelled without my permission, but I am concerned that BT might send a bill of some sort to my address as I still seem to have a phone line. Has anyone experienced this? How was it resolved? Any suggestions?
Thanks!
