Travel gadget insurance for item purchased outside the UK?

My daughter is going abroad volunteering for 3 months and needs to insure her gadgets. the problem is that she bought her go pro online in the USA and her aunt brought it to the UK. It seems that most insurers only inusure items purchased in the UK - does anyone know where we may be able to get cover?

I have no idea what a go pro is, but if it is that expensive perhaps she should leave it at home.
Anyway, you might see whether her essential gadgets could be added to your home insurance policy (probably under the All Risks Personal Possessions section). Be aware if you do this that any claim would increase your home insurance premium for the next few years...0
