Hi Guys
We are taking our lot on a nice Holiday in October for a week.
Every year we go on a budget holiday and always try and do the free things but this year we are lucky and we have a bit of money to spend, so I would like to find some activities that we have never been able to do like;

Zorbing
Laser Quest
Go Karts
Boat Trip

Or similar things if anyone has any suggestions? budget Around £100 per activity for 6 of us

Anyone Help?
xx

I recommend Mermaid Boat Trips from Penzance - http://cornwallboattrips.co.uk/

There's also lots of different boat trips from Falmouth. All the ticket offices are located on the piers.
  • Does anyone have any information about what to do near Portreath? Three couples and a baby going....

Just a thought that one of the cheapest activities is often crabbing - buy a crabbing kit and sit on a harbour wall with some cheap bait and crab away! Check out the crabbing tips! :Dhttp://www.littletrekkers.co.uk/fun-stuff-to-do-and-download/fun-stuff-to-do-with-the-kids-outdoors/item/go-crabbing.html

Things i enjoyed in Cornwall were going to vist Lizard Point for the views, seeing St Michaels Mount, Monkey World, walking around Looe with an ice cream, the zoo, and doing the tour and afternoon tea at the Cirnish Cider Farm. The park and ride into St Ives was a scenic train which we enjoyed too. Lands End was a bit of a let down.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

I think generally the best things in Cornwall are free or cheap but there are some good wildlife boat tours from Falmouth. A good chance of seeing large pods of dolphins etc.

Agree, avoid lands end it self. Porthcurno is nice in that area. Perhaps try and grab a show at the Minack?

    Lizard peninsula ideas -

St Anthony boat hire - and explore Helford River.
Take ferry (foot) across Helford river from Helford (nice pub there too) to Trebah Gardens (sub tropical - lovely walks)
Roskilly's Farm - watch milking and sample their ice cream
Beach ride from Newton Equestrian Centre, Mullion
    Seal Sanctuary at Gweek
Goonhilly - satellite station, apparently you can also do segway there too
Poldark mine (a bit inland so not strictly Lizard peninsula)
Gallery Anthony art workshops, Chocolate Factory and llamas at Mullion
    Coastal path
    somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's
  • It really depends what your family like doing. No use going costal walking if their idea of a walk is once round the block and straight indoors again. Personally I like the costal walking around the Lizard, its well signposted, and in relatively short sections - although it will still take you longer time than you think as you are either going up or down - there's very little that's flat!

If their idea of heaven is theme parks, then Flambards is by Sainsbury's in Helston, which isn't that far away and you can get a discount on the tickets if you book online in advance. St Michaels Mount is probably worth visiting, especially if you check the tides and see when the tide is out, and then they can walk across the causeway. St Michal's itself is National Trust, though. You can catch a boat back if the causeway has flooded in the meantime.

This next suggestion may sound a bit barking, but if you haven't been to the Eden Project, then you should go. Drive across to Redruth and get up onto the A30, and it will take about an hour to get there (from Mullion). The earlier you can get there, the better - its likely to require all day. You may also get discounts on the tickets - you used to be able to use Tesco Club cards to buy in advance, but I've not done this for ages so not sure if this is still available. Minack is ace, but avoid Lands End itself - its an expensive carpark with even dearer tat which every self-respecting child will assure you that they will die if they don't buy it immediately - you have been warned. If you are really desperate to bag it and say you've been there go north to the Sennan Cove, park up and walk over the cliffs to Lands End. If the weather is wet, the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth is also good.

Worth checking local tourist information and also local papers and internet - there may be fetes/carnivals/festivals etc going on.

whatever you do, enjoy it - the Lizard is a wonderful place.

Monkey World is in Dorset, Monkey Sanctuary is in Cornwall.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Gweek seal sanctuary is a great day out. I would also recommend the Minack Theatre either to see a show or just look around. It's carved out of the cliffs and is just breathtaking.
