Notice of Enforcement - Credit Rating affected?

Hi everyone,

I have moved house a few times in the past couple of years and hadn't updated my driving license each time (stupidly). I appear to have received a fine at some point that wasn't paid as I didn't know about. Its spiralled and has resulted in me receiving a "Notice of Enforcement" from a company called Marstons. The bill is £415 which I paid today as soon as I received the letter.

I already have a poor credit score, can someone tell me if this is going to make it even worse?

If it does not you will have been lucky.

You can also be fined £1000 for not updating your address on a driving licence and £1000 for failing to update the address of a registered vehicle keeper. Failing to do this multiple times is rather pushing this.

This probably will not affect your credit score as the charge is effectively a fine but assessed as a civil penalty. If it went to court for enforcement as a civil debt that would be different. However you should keep an eye on your file.
