HELP non dependant deductions confused!!

I am a single girl who has moved into a new flat and I'm privately renting. I have bipolar disorder and currently claim PIP and housing benefit. Recently I have a male friend who has moved in with me because he was made homeless. Currently under the hb rules a non dependant is exempt from deductions if claiming pip.
Now he is only a friend and not a boyfriend but what worries me is if I inform the council that he has moved in with me what makes them not dispute that hes my partner?? There doesnt seem to be a way to prove this.
Also do they look through wardrobes when they visit? This is so intrusive? The whole thing is worrying me

YOU called him your partner in your other thread..:think:How do non dependant deductions work for Housing Benefit?
I am confused about my housing application. I have a partner who wants to move into my private rented flat but unsure whether I am subject to weekly deductions for hb.
I receive PIP standard care so does that mean if a partner moves in I am exempt from any deductions to my benefit or does this only apply if a Non dependant moved in with me I.e. a friend or family member???
pmlindyloo explained that you will be assessed as a couple.

It will be very difficult convincing the DWP that you are not a couple.
You haven't convinced me yet.....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
McKneff haha I'm not actually here posting to PROVE myself to anyone. More about how council rules affect different people's circumstances. Maybe I should ask someone impartial.0

Ask the Housing Benefit dept. They're the ones that will need convincing.0
