Credit report and mis-matching address

Hi all,
It transpires that my address exists in systems in two formats - the normal, correct format but also one where the first line of my address appears erroneously in the district information and just a '&' appears in the address line. So the address appears similar to this:
'10, &, Millbrook Lane London, SWxx',
rather than:
'10, Millbrook Lane, London, SWxx'.
(example address used!)
This has now caused me a little bother with my remortgage as the credit check is not matching up. This is the first time I've had this problem, no problems with getting credit in the last few years. And I have been able to obtain my own credit reports with no problem.
We are working around this with the mortgage company and hopefully it won't cause an issue. But does anyone know how I can get it fixed? I've checked land registry and all appears to be in order, so I'm not sure where this problem originates?
Thanks for any help/insight anyone can provide!
