Can ESA be renewed automatically when PIP is awarded?

Hi everyone 
I was awarded PIP 18 months ago and it's now been over three years since I was awarded ESA- can it be renewed automatically due to the PIP claim? I thought three years was the maximum award for ESA, so perhaps the PIP claim is the reason I haven't been sent any forms yet?
I don't want to call up and ask them since it might spur them to reassess me early or something. Even though I'd definitely be eligible still I just don't want the aggro.

No getting PIP doesn't mean you can automatically have your ESA renewed. My ESA is now over a year overdue for reassesement from the original 2 year date. They are still running very behind in some areas.Hi everyone

The people who answer the DWP phones do only that, they have no authority to trigger reassessment, not does looking at the computer file do so.0
