I had an acc with Santander and let too many DD fail, will post acc statement below, does anyone think I have a hope of reclaiming some of the charges back?

I was in financial hardship at the time and didn't have a job but ignored it all instead of dealing with any of my debts, I am now in full time education and am not able to offer them anything repayment wise as my student loans/bursaries barely cover my outgoings.

You cannot claim historical charges back, only current ones in financial hardship cases. Any refund they did make would be offset against unpaid money anyway

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

thanks, I don't want the money was just hoping they would write off some of the charges so I could offer a lesser payment.
I could afford £50 to get it cleared and done with but not every month until its all paid off.

On what basis do you think they should write the charges off?

Unless you are contemplating bankruptcy, or other insolvency I very much doubt they'll accept just £50 from a £600 defaulted debt.
