As it says in the title really, would either of these be big enough for the 3 of us? Anybody got any experience? MTIA.:o

My sister has a Jazz with 2 monsters and there's plenty of room to spare when they load up for holidays. The Jazz is deceptively large and has versatile folding seats.

Get the right sort of pram which fits in the boot and no problems whatsoever. Our Aygo is large enough for 2 adults and our 17 month old.
  • Yes, the Jazz is easily big enough for two adults and a baby. A suitable-from-birth buggy like Mclaren Techno XT fits in the boot quite easily.

However, the Jazz has no 'Airbag Off' button for the front passenger seat, so no way to carry baby in the front when just one adult is driving on a long trip. As far as I know, there is no systematic resource on the web listing exactly which cars do have this feature -- you just have to search through reviews of each car on a case-by-case basis to find out, if this is an issue. Otherwise, a special mirror is available to clip to the back seat headrest...

If anyone knows of a complete list of cars with Airbag Off button, please do point me in the right direction :)

Both are excellent little cars for your needs, spacious (in their class), reliable and safe. The drawback is that both are expensive to buy, new or used, although they will retain value.

Having been in the industry in the past I now occasionaly buy cars for friends and recently was asked to buy a car from this class, as new as possible, best spec etc for 6k.

I'd never had anything to to with Smarts before yet ended up with a ForFour 1.3 Passion. Beautifully built, amazing use of interior space, sliding rear seats for a small boot/max legroom and the reverse combo. Air con, alloys, CD, electric everything and even twin sunroofs, 4* NCAP. It was close to 11k just over a year ago but due to Smart dropping it from the range values have plummeted and I paid £5700. Cars after 1-4-7 had a four year warranty and are a serious bargain.

Values for the ForFour have just about settled and I suggest that as an alternatve to the Jazz/Yaris you look at one. They are a Mitsibishi Colt under the skin with a body from Mercedes.

Possibly very similar boot sizes in volume. IIRC Yaris boot is more uniform - ie it has less suspension obstruction and is more rectangular. The Jazz boot probably has slightly more volume because the suspension turrets aren't fully covered over.
