For anyone who has/had a Halifax Monthly Saver account

I want to make a withdrawal from my account and would like to know, what methods are there for a withdrawal?
My nearest branch is at least 45 minutes away! So i would prefer to make a withdrawal without making that trip, if i can.
Lloyds TSB give a transaction book for you to make deposits & withdrawals through post, but i didnt get anything like that from Halifax (which is a nice and simple method)
Ive got an Internet Banking account, and was wondering would transfering funds from my Monthly Saver to my Current Account be possible through online? Ive forgotten my net banking pin number though, so can't check to see if thats possible. I just tried calling them to obtain my pin number and ask questions on withdrawals, but ive been on hold for 20 minutes
So any help here would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like you might have to be sent out a new card and PIN. As far as I know this is the only secure way of you being given one. And of course, you should never divulge it to anyone - but you can tell it to me, if you like. You can trust me because I'm a gynaecologist, albeit an amateur one.

Anyhow, when you get a new PIN, change it once again and quickly but to something more memorable.
You can do this by popping your Debit, or Credit Card as the case may be, into an ATM at your average supermarket and using the button that says 'Card Services'. You use your existing PIN to change to a new PIN.
It's easy peasy lemon squeasy.
As a memonic aid you might like to use the positional locations of numbers on a ATM keyboard or some part of your phone number in reverse. Or whatever - but make it pertinent to something that you CAN remember.Ive got an Internet Banking account, and was wondering would transfering funds from my Monthly Saver to my Current Account be possible through online?
Yes. I would think there is most definitely a facility for this.0 -
Are you sure you can take money out of the Halifax Monthly Saver?0

I believe you are correct and the OP should request 'closure' then Halifax will make up interest at the Websaver rate and transfer everything into the nominated account - to which the OP will have access either online or via a card. Are you sure you can take money out of the Halifax Monthly Saver?.....under construction.... Yes thats correct from the terms and conditions:-
"Halifax Regular Saver
Although you cannot make withdrawals from your Halifax Regular Saver, if you do need access to your money you can close your account at any time. If you close we will pay interest up to the date of closure at the rate for the Halifax Web Saver (no card) account."

Don't confuse the Halifax's Monthly Saver with the Regular Saver.
See here: http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/savingsatglance.asp
The monthly saver allow 1 withdrawal per year without affecting the bonus, and the balance is not swept into another account every year.
I've only ever withdrawn by cheque over the counter at a local branch. I haven't tried it online yet so don't know if it is possible.Mortgage started July 2010 = £223,314

Hi Atos
You need to call the online helpdesk on 08456 02 00 00 which is 24 hours a day to get your online banking reset.
You will be given a few digits verbally and then the other by email. You then set up new passwords.
I can confirm that you can transfer money from your monthly saver (I have one) to your halifax current account, but it is not instant like other accounts, because there are restrictions on the account. In my experience it was about 24 - 26 hours.
Halifax will not accept withdrawal requests by email, fax or in writing. However, there is a postal 3rd party form that you can collect from a branch but the net would be the quicker way.0
