i would also like help, same happened to my Son, in Sennen Car park, by Restaurant. I stupidly gave them his name and address. trying to be honest. He paid for an all day ticket,(which we have), and it fell off, as it was a very hot day. He got a PCN and the guy that ticketed him spoke with him when he went back at lunchtime. My Son showed him the valid ticket and he said to appeal it and that it would all be ok. This was August last year. We have written to Armtrac to explain everything, stating they are not "out of pocket" as we had purchased a ticket, and they replied that "as it wasn't displayed on the windscreen" we would have to pay. I sent a copy of the ticket with our Registration number on it, but they won't accept it. Now we have the Debt collectors chasing us for something like £165. `I've explained to them, that he has a valid ticket, and they are still phoning us every month, and hassling us. Im not paying them. How do i stop this. I'm not paying £165.00.
Ive tried to get hold of Sennen harbourmaster, and emailed last year, but no reply. I have no phone numbers or names of anyone to speak to. I believe one of the lifeboatmen, a Mr Shannon may be involved in the car park, but have no phone number or email address for him. Can anyone help, or do i have to put up with the Debt collectors ringing me for ever?
Thanks everyone!

Have you read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES yet?
As well as telling you how you should have handled this (not naming the driver) it explains why it is safe to ignore debt collectors. Alternatively you could write a cease and desist letter to them telling them you deny the debt and to refer this matter back to the parking company.
Never 'phone a parking company either.
Who is getting the debt crawler letters anyway? Is it you or your son? Since he has been named as driver then you should not be getting any correspondence from anyone, only him. He of course must ignore the debt crawler letters or send the cease and desist letter.
Is the car park perhaps covered by Byelaws? This would help greatly if it is as only the landowner can sue, and then only for trespass, and then only up to six months after the alleged event.
I think Armtrac are IPC members, so the advice in the NEWBIES thread is to ignore anything and everything you get for six years after the initial appeal unless it is real court papers.
Please confirm the full name of the parking company.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -

What is it with these West Country beauty spots, why don't the local Tourist Boards and Parish Councils do something? There must be ways of clipping their wings.
Also, the sign as you enter the western car park seems unnecessarily high, the letters too small, and surely the colours, red on white, are not the best for maximum clatiry. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
send the debt collector a cease and desist letter
type "cease and desist letter" into google, there are many good examples0 -

St Endellion Parish Council have tendered out the Port Isaac car park management to AS Parking.
Would be interesting to test if that is classed as Not Relevant Land in the scheme of POFA...<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Thanks everyone for the help.
Pappa Golf- my Son is only young, so i am trying to sort this out/ignore it.
IAS denied the appeal last year. Company address: Armtrac Security Services, PO Box 154, Penzance, TR20 9WD. Then passed on to TNC Parking Services, requesting payment of ££179 = notice payment £100 + £79 admin charge. Then in Feb letter "notice of intention to advise client to issue summons". Nothing since, other than phone calls. As am not corresponding in writing with them i don't think i will send the "cease and desist"yet.
How do i find out about the Byelaws or landowner? Even rang Penzance council who couldn't tell me the landowner. Should i write to the local council, if i can find an address?
Thanks everyone.0 -
