Hope someone can help I want to find a decent company in the London region to supply made to measure Wooden window shutters. Have had quotes from Hillarys but their package has MDF frames am looking for wood shutters and wood frames. Dont mind fitting them my self unless someone can recommend a good company that supplies and fits.

California Shutters for DIY option, their sister company Shutterly Fabulous for supply and fit. Used both, good shutters, good price.0

Hilary's messed my colleague around for months - sent wrong shutters to them, cancelled install like 3 times. Mess of a company.
There's a company that I have been rec'd to that are based in Croydon if that's near enough for you? They cover most of south west London but possibly a bit further.0 -
I used Bromley Blinds for my wooden shutters, but they are South East (Bromley obviously).
Very pleased with them though.:T0 -
stick with curtains much warmer in the winter0

I used California Shutters and they look amazing.
They are not completely 'idiot proof' but anyone with at least a bit of DIY competence can measure up and install them. If you are nervous I would ring them up; they are helpful and can tell you where to measure etc.0 -

Depends what you go for. Mine are stained elm, but I got samples of some that were similar to MDF. Real wood is more expensive. You can order free samples if you are unsure what to get.
(the frames and shutters were all real wood) 0 -

No, mine are basswood (hardwood).
I'm surprised you can get MDF shutters, they must weigh a ton.0
