I bought an item in a Wyevale Garden Centre on Saturday marked at £33.99 with 70% off (I also bought several other items at the same time).
The till receipt showed
Item £33.99
70% off £20.30
The discount should of course be £23.80.
How many of us trust shops tills to calculate percentage discounts correctly? [And lets face it, calculations, particuarly simple ones, are what computers do best].
I was refunded when I went back in, but when I emailed customer service at Wyevale asking them to bring it to senior managers attention so it could be fixed,, I just got a standard reply offering me the refund (which my email said I had already received).
So, check your Wyevale receipts, particlarly when percentage discounts are applied, as you cannot trust their tills to calculate it correctly.
Sorry if this is posted nn the wrong boad, I wasn't sure where to put it.

The sale is 'up to' 70% off. Could you perhaps have picked something up which only had 60% off?
Some items have 25% off, 50% off, etc.0 -
No, definitely 70% off, and the receipt stated "70% off", but then calculated it incorrectly!
Worrying isn't it?0 -
Yeah I've had a similar experience at one of these garden centres, went straight back in to speak to the cashier and got my money refunded. End of. Not the only store for it to happen.
Its very unlikely to be a computer calculation error, simply a human input error. No big deal, mistakes happen.0
