I can no longer use my left arm due to progressive MS so am struggling with dealing with things whilst on the phone. what I need is home phone which would allow me to plug a headset set in, so has anyone any ideas please.

Have you thought of getting one with a speakerphone? That frees up a hand which you would hold it - and they are more available than larger sets where a headset could be plugged in.
Perhaps have a trip to Staples (where you could try them out in person) if you're dead set on having a headset. Do be aware they can be rather temperemental.0 -
Other good sources of speakerphones (which I'm sure would be easier to use than headphones) are Connevans and Action on Hearing Loss. They both have excellent returns policies should the product not be suitable for you, and you can get them VAT free because of your disability.
Of course I realise that privacy can't be maintained so easily with a speakerphone.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Those are expensive. We bought a twin set of Panasonic cordless from Amazon for about £27. They have a speakerphone and an intercom setup, which could be handy if you need help from someone in another room.0 -
Thanks for all the replies, but I found a headset that works with cordless phones, I waited to post this till I saw how I got on with it but its great -

and for £39.99 I love it.

You should be able to get a disability assessment through your Social Services. If not CAB is a good first call either way!0
