Around 1980 I had a postal account with Cheltenham and Gloucester BS which paid 10% interest!
I think inflation was about 10% then as well, so I guess it's 'swings and roundabouts'.0 -

Yes, and it has been even higher, eg. 24% in 1975, and even higher if you go back much further...

Got the letter from Tesco today. I'll stick with it for now as the bonus rate on top beats what is on offer in most other places I'd consider for overflow from the 3% current account.0

each time my IS has lost it's bonus , I just took another one out, now 1.5%.Don't know how many they allow. Got IAS also
Hardly worth it now, except for, interest from my 2 current a/cs and;)
If LLoyds et. al, do the same as Santander, then, there will be no need for Tesco IS, IAS.
