Is there such thing as a spending account?

I use a spreadsheet for my main interest earning current account. It has 7 different "accounts" running from it, spending plus 3 credit cards, budget for bills and 2 savings "accounts" My income comes from 4 different sources at different times of the month so it helps with the planning. The right hand column shows what is in the account at any time, both current and looking forward, and the bottom of the left hand column shows how much is left for the month. It means that I can borrow from one cash pot and pay it back when the income is added if necessary (not that I ever do because 2 of the credit cards are slow stoozing balances on 0% spend cards) or pay a budget bill with a credit card and transfer that amount to the current column to pay the card bill. Easily managed once you get into the habit. I have used spreadsheets for cash management since the early 70s, paper and pencil back then, when you only got a statement once a month and had to go into branch if you wanted a balance.0
