Well it would be closer to £3,000 I understand where you are coming from and how people will see it, I just don’t want to be working the rest of the year just to pay back the TC and to top up the shortfall of not receiving the TC. Plus paying Tax & NI contribution Travelling costs etc..

I have just one child, no childcare or disabilities.

    Regards

On £22,500 with one child your yearly award would be approx £1512. So you'd need to repay anything in excess of this.

It's likely you'll need to repay directly as you won't be entitled from April 2017.

However you could repay as little as £10 a month in some circumstances so I still think you'd probably be better off taking the job as soon as you could.

    Thanks Darksparkle

It has finally sunk in how it actually works and how you got to that figure of approx. £1512. The £2,500 disregarded amount is that a certain.

Again thanks for your help, I’m not trying to defraud the system or anything just want to make sure I am fully aware for every eventuality once I am in full time employment.

See I just remembered my son starts college and is entitled to a bursary and free school meals, that’s something else we will lose.

    Regards
