How to price my car
I have a SportKa SE, 2004, 54 plate, 6K miles. I need to sell as this car won't be big enough come August when I become a dad, so obviously I need to get as good a price as possible. This rules out part ex, so what price should I go for? Also where would you go to advertise this, and what are the costs?

You could try looking up the value of your car at Kelley Blue Book~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PMS Pot: £57.53 Pigsback Pot: £23.00

The Autotrader website (google) has a section where you can put in all the details and it will come up with prices for trade-in, private sale, sale to dealer etc. Autotrader.co.uk I think.

Your problem is that your car is too new to be included in most pricing guides. Cars under 12 months old rarely come on the second hand market except through a dealers Forecourt.
You will be able to try and sell it privately which will give you the best price. Look at some dealers web sites and try and find some cars (Ka's!!) that match yours. Dagenham Motors are a large Ford Dealer http://www.dagenhammotors.co.uk/
Then for a private sale knock off say £1k -£1.5k from the forecourt price. When selling stress the balance of warranty and all the goodies that come with that model. i.e aircon. alloy wheels, sports seas, leather seats, etc, etc.
You may have problems selling though, as many people buying cars that are so new often want the comfort of buying from a dealer. If you want to trade up you may actually be better off trying to do a deal with a dealer using it as a trade in. You may only lose a couple of hundred pounds and not have all the hassle of advertising, worrying about phoney bankers drafts, etc. If you go to a dealer towards the end of the month better deals can often be struck especially if they are just below their sales targets and want to get through them to make bonus.
Good luck on selling and becoming a dad in August.0 -
Parkers do have valuations for newer cars as I am currently selling a 2005 MG ZR and there are valuations for it on there.0

Excellent, and what value would I get if I was to try for a private sale?0
