A Right Royal Mess I've Got Myself Into

I second the sentiments from previous posters, you were so brave to admit your mistakes to your employers, and as much as it doesnt help your financial situation, it shows your strength of character, moral fibre and commitment to your faith, so you should feel very proud of yourself. As far as finding new employment is concerned, I found that honesty was the best policy. I was in a similar situation to you, and lost my job (and very nearly my liberty) through an act of weakness and stupidity and would never dream of following that same path again. I work for the NHS, and had to undergo a full disclosure CRB check for my position, and so I had no choice but to disclose my criminal conviction, but when I went to speak to who is now my line manager, prior to even applying for the job, I told him straight away what had happened, and he said it wasn't a problem, and the fact that I had owned up to my past immediatley suggested that I would never even consider doing anything similar again. Your call, but MAY be worth a go.
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.0 -
Hi,
late to this, but notice you say about making sure you have enough for school dinner money. Don't know how well you get on with the headteacher, but my daughter's is really sympathetic. Might it be possible for you to let her/him know what is going on for you, might there be some assistance with paying for school dinners? Someone else on this board may know more about who qualifies for free meals, I don't want to raise your hopes unnecessarily. I just think what you are doing is great and hope you get loads of support from people around you - I admire your courage and integrity, and wish you all the very best. Kristie xx0
