Short term mobile use in Turkey - recommendations

Hiya,
I'm off to turkey in September and I will need to check on work emails throughout the day, and potentially make phone calls (texts would also be useful but not a deal breaker)
Can anyone advise on how easy it would be to get a sim in the airport (bodrum) and put that in a cheap UK bought, unlocked phone?
Or is there a reasonable UK network that I can get a PAYG sim or one month contract?
I have googled and checked the advice on here, just hoping someone has experience with one of the two options above as I need to be sure I can at least access the Internet.
The hotel does have free wifi but knowing my luck it will be out of service that week 🙈
Tia. Charlotte.

I have used Vodafone there, although I wouldn't recommend their service. You pay £3 per day to use your bundle allowances there.0
