New glasses

I just ordered from direct sight. I used the measurements of my existing glasses (printed on the side) to help me choose some of a similar size.

Never updated my last comment. Boots did me a re-test (3 months to the day from the first one) and said my prescription had changed [again]. It turned out that the right lens in all four pairs of glasses was incorrect, so they all had to be redone. Because of all the hassle, they refunded me half what I'd paid, £195.

Still not satisfied, I took them to another optician for a second opinion and found out that only one pair was actually correct. The distance ones were incorrect (although I admit when the readers were all redone, I didn't get the distance ones corrected), and the two other reading pairs weren't measured correctly. According to Boots, they only measure horizontally, not vertically. The prescriptions read the same on paper so Boots could only assume the other optician meant that my glasses didn't measure correctly vertically but apparently they don't do that unless your prescription is above a 5. Anyway, they've re-measured them and are correcting them for the third time (amazing how mentioning Trading Standards gets a swift response) and tonight they refunded me the rest of what I paid, another £195 so I'm going to [hopefully] end up with four pairs of glasses for free. And I won't be going back to Boots ever again. Should totally have gone to Specsavers.
