Dear All,
My partners son died three months ago, as mothers do she chose to organise his funereal and pay for it although finding the cost was a strain along with her other emotions.
Is there any help for funereal expenses from local authorities or government bodies?
He died with no will no money and his offspring haven't offered to help with the expense either.
She is an independent soul and wont ask if any of his offspring would help with the cost.
Any advice would be appreciated.

If the deceased has no money then the hospital where they died or the local authority has to pay for a basic funeral and cremation but it can't be claimed retrospectively. There are also funeral grant available for those on low incomes. Details search funeral grants.smudger1946 wrote: »Dear All,
