Newbie, revived court papers today county judgment . Gladstone solicitors link parkin

Options
Hi there I'm new so forgive me for errors if any and also sorry in advance if my spell checker doesn't fix all my poor grammar.

Long story short i have parked in a carpark in Wales twice over a weekend I am guilty technically as I parked with out a ticket I had reasons for my actions as I had to rush back to England due to a friend being hospitalised meaning the car parked far longer than had expected it to be.
Here's the story line of events

1.Basically I ignored letters and played a big front that I wasn't going to pay when I spoke to them hoping it would scare them off.

2. Several months later I receive a lbc from Gladstone solicitors on behalf of link parking requesting £300 pounds or reply within 14 days which I did by email and by post direct to Gladstone but didn't hear anything back.

3. Today I revived county court papers in the post for a claim with fees and everything coming to £380 roughly

Now I am guilty so do I just pay ? I want to fight this to the end but don't know what leg to stand on or how to structure a defence .
Or should I try a counter offer or should I just pay up before I end up with more fees.

If anyone would like to offer advice via email message me at theandrewferguson@hotmail.com

Thanks
Best regards
Andrew ferguson

  • Hi the forum works by posting the thread

Delete your email address and request MSE change your username

You should acknowledge service of the claim only at this stage which extends the time to submit a defence so you can research this a bit better.

Read the NEWBIE thread court guide links and other threads as this is explained

However, you need to create an account on MCOL and select the option to acknowledge service of the claim.

tick the box 'intend to defend in full' and leave the defence blank.

so , an MCOL , not a CCJ , from Gladstones on behalf of Link Parking

just follow the usual lines of acknowledgment online and draft up your initial holding defence , as detailed in post #1 of the NEWBIES sticky thread , court sub-section

then look for all the recent 2016 court cases on here and pepipoo and especially any Gladstones ones

remove your email address from post #1 too

also read the parking pranksters court guide as well
