Have applied for and been granted fixed rate account with Paragon. I like to do a small initial transfer to check all working OK. Especially as in this case money is routed via a third party (HSBC). Did you explain that you wish to transfer in an ISA from a previous tax year?

It says that transfers are accepted.

Transferring in an "old" isa does not prevent your subscribing for the current tax year.
