Thank you all for taking the time to reply.
I was told this by a Cruise 118 concierge.
In a panic I just booked an apt with passport office. Have spent a lot of money for Hubbys 50th so really dont want to risk any problems.
Am familiar with link and have queried the grounds for it and awaiting reply.
Thank you Peachy, I will ditch my paperwork and do sons under my maiden name...
Then again, that could be a problem in itself as I did my other sons in April but under my married name. So might look suspicious?? Unfortunately there was a delay in receiving the passport they queried why I asked for delivery to another address ( I was at work)
My referee who is white stated in the 30 years he's been signing, he's only ever been contacted when the child applicant is non white, so slight concerns there too.0 -
Don't take any chances at all with US authorities. Check with the US Embassy. Best to play safe.
There is no 6 month requirement of UK citizend to have 6 months on their passport because we are members of the VWP, simple as that.
But OP isn't even going to the US, she's going to Norway.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

It shouldn't matter, they'll just check your passport number not your other son's.
As for only checking non-white applications with referees, rubbish, all my white children have had theirs checked at various times.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Here's what they say:

Interesting about their statement that they 'strongly recommend'. Surely either they do or they don't, or do for such and such destination but not required for others.0 -
Sounds like a generic condition to cater for places that do require 6 months validity0
