    No idea what the eco-perfect does?

    From your OP it does sound like the element has gone faulty. If you are handy it doesn't look to difficult to replace.

    Our Bosch started tripping the RCD a month ago and we replaced it. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to try a cold wash!
  • If you can get the repair carried out at a reasonable price (or preferably doing it yourself), I would get it done.
    When you move (if this goes ahead), you could offer the machine to the buyer of your property for a small amount so you don't have to take it and end up with two of them.
