You want all your reds together on the pendant, the switched live, looks like yours has a brown sleeve wires up with the brown of the pendant.0

I 'thanked' you for taking the time to reply, even though I didn't know what the (deleted) question was!0

Complete idiot/novice here. I begun replacing a light fitting with a pendant. Halfway through install I realised that the new fitting did not have all the requisite parts. I have tried to rewire the old fitting but it isn't working. Well the light works and the previous light on the circuit work but the rest of the lights in the flat do not. Can anyone help me correct this error?
Thanks for any help given - and I rightly accept any abuse too.

If you look at the top link, at the end of the green writing you will see a very small down arrow.
Click on this then click on "cached" and it shows what that web page looked like at 3:57pm yesterday.0 -

It's called embarrassment, we all get affected by it sometime.;)
But have to remonstrate with SS, to say "You want all your reds together on the pendant, the switched live, looks like yours has a brown sleeve wires up with the brown of the pendant."
My point being that many jobs aren't wired to code, ie the colour code. Many folks just use a little knowledge and whatever cable is to hand.
So whilst in a perfect world that is correct, in reallity wire it how it was if you don't have the tools and nous to test out.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
