Natwest credit card default

Hi - if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Today a pal of mine received a Default Notice from Natwest, which stated it had been issued as she had gone over her limit.

However, her last statement (August 9) showed no such thing and, crucially, she has actually paid off £2,500 off the card this month!

(She hasn't spent a penny on the card since July 22 and, bizarrely, when she did try to use it this week it was declined).

Is there anything she can do?

Yes - she can contact them to find out the status of her account.

She needs to work out why they are saying that. Speaking to them would probably be best. We don't have enough information from your post to answer.

Some questions for her though: -

Was she very close to her limit, with interest or charges tipping her over?
Has her limit been reduced, either by her or the credit card company?
Has she made at least the minimum payment, on time, every month?
