Not doing well with technical stuff lately! Our desk top is old & we have had an error message that pops up "script error" with various details depending on webpage. Sometimes it's hard to get rid of as a new error box opens each time I try to clear it.
So we bought a tower with windows 10 installed (factory recon) & the messages still appear. HOW???
I've checked in advanced options that the box that says disable script debugging is checked, but even if it's unchecked it's the same message box. How is this happening on a new tower? I don't get these things. How on earth do we solve it?

Putting my helpdesk hat on, I have more questions than answers:
What browser(s) and versions of them are you using? Try a different browser.
Do you get the same script errors on all websites, or is it just some?
What is the exact text of the script error?
Have you installed any kind of script blocking software?
Does it look like a "genuine" script error, or could it be malware?
Have you run a virus scanner on either PC recently?
Is there any software that you have installed on both PCs?0 -
I'm having 'script' problems with Firefox and i've been restarting it with all add-ons disabled.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

Ok so here's the answers:
it happens on most websites but not all.
the box with the message always looks the same but contains some different text depending on the webpage - but it's generally the same
I don't have any malware programmes so should I download one to scan?
Other pc had Norton & I always did full scans.
Only have basic antivirus & was about to install Bullguard when new pc showed errors.
I've only installed Internet Explorer - other pc had it too but for years before problem.
Google toolbar too (same as above) I like what you get with the toolbar so prefer to use it.
Doesn't happen if I use google chrome (just prefer internet explorer)
Thanks for trying to help, I realise I may have to get a local pc fixer round, but thought I'd ask here in case it's something simple.
I'll try to not exact text & post later.0
