0% Credit card to pay for a medical procedure

Hi all
I'm clueless when it comes to credit cards
I need a medical operation that, due to pain and discomfort, I cant wait 18 weeks for on the NHS, so I'd like to go private.
The op costs £2,500 privately.
I need around 18 months to pay it off.
Is it better getting a 0% card that I can pay off in 18 months (if that length of time exists with 0%)
or a bank loan?
Thanks

Well it's obviously better to pay no interest than some, so your question is a bit pointless really. The issue is whether you will get a 0% card, and nobody can answer that. If you can't then you'll need to compare what rate you can get against the loan rate you can get.0

Have a look at Martin's guide, he also has an "eligibility checker" although it's accuracy isn't perfect. Provided you pay it off and on time then yes, it would be cheaper to put the cost on a 0% card as it wouldn't cost you anything. Before you click through to the card companies website, check Quidco/TCB to see if they're offering cashback0

OP How much can you afford to pay each month?
Will you be able to pay it off before the end of the promotional period?
Will the hospital/doctor accept a credit card payment?
If not you will need a money transfer card and a limit higher than £2.5k.0 -
All private providers take CCs in my experience (or at least that of my mother's) though individual consultants are another matter.
Good luck to the OP. I hope this doesn't seem to be in bad taste, but I had our cat put down on an 18 month 0% deal. Somehow, it was as if the cat was still with us for another year or so....0
