Splitting home insurance

Has anyone split their contents and buildings insurance to get two cash backs on two different policies? I intend to use AA with £35, I am thinking of buying them seperately to get two cash backs. Will this track OK, I do not want to be worst off as the quote is more if you buy individually. Thanks

I would caution against this. In the event of a claim that affects both buildings and contents you will have 2 insurers to deal with, 2 loss adjusters and 2 excesses to pay.
In addition, some insurers differ in what they define as contents / buildings and items that should have been claimable have not been covered by either insurer.
Much easier to deal with one firm imho.0 -
I agree with Mattymoo that in the event of a claim it is easier having the same policy with the same insurer however to answer your question yes it is possible to split your contents and building insurance,
Question though - why go with the AA for this? There are far higher paying cashback offers - and in my opinion also in respect of premiums0
