Bereavement allowance - living abroad (Ireland) - any help available after?

Options
Hi,

My mother is receiving bereavement allowance, but from what I understand this is only available for 52 weeks after a bereavement.

She will be 61 years old once this finishes (early next year), but has been living abroad in Republic of Ireland for the last few years.

She was born in Ireland, but moved to England when she was 17 years old and has worked in England until she moved back to Ireland a few years ago.

I've tried calling a few UK helplines but they are not familiar with this situation - has anyone had any previous experience as to whether there is any financial help available after the bereavement allowance ends as she has no other income?

Thanks,
