Full time education?

Daughter (age 17) finishes her college course friday. Am I correct in thinking she is officially still in full time education until sept? So she can't sign on the dole and I still get child benefit / CTC etc.

What if she gets a job (very possible), does the same apply until sept?

I don't know but ... my almost 17 year old is half way through his college course and I had a letter from Child Benfit office saying his benefit has ended because he isn't infull timeed. Wrote back andsaid he was and planning to be until June 06. They wrote back and said his entitlement was now until Sept 06 unless circumstances change.

Hi - just looked at my Welfare Benefits Handbook. It says 'you are treated as a student until either the last day of your course or until you abandon or are dismissed from it. The last day of the course is the date on which the last day of the final academic year is officially scheduled to fall'

Now we've just got to work out what that means. Does the academic year start/finish on 1 Sept?
