Which runabout to buy?

Hi Guys, I am looking for a runabout for the Mrs to carry out the school run, trips to the supermarket etc. Mrs is a new driver and specifically needs a small automatic. Our budget is 1500.We have a shortlist of three cars and would like to request your views on the cars. The list is as follows:
1. Suzuki Swift - 137 000 miles @ £1400
2. Peugeot 207 – 123 000 miles @ £1450
3. Nissan Note – 96 000 miles @ £1500
This will be a low use car and expect to do about 3000 miles per year

Decent second hand cars seem to be a lot cheaper than they use to be. You don't see as many old-bangers on the road.

As above go on condition and service history, especially look at how recent the timing belts have been changed, they are all at the age if not mileage where they would be due and you are generally talking £300-£400 if they need doing, it varies a bit between manufacturers but 90,000 or 5 years is ball park.

Not really. The warranty will exclude anything that fails through wear and tear, and anything that's failed through lack of maintenance.

Which won't leave much - and, even then, there'll be limits to how much they pay.
