Australia holiday

            Interesting.
I suppose our flight starting in UK on September 29 to Singapore and then on to Australia might count though???
You'd need to look very carefully at the policy, I suspect that the majority would not cover you. Can you take out insurance in Singapore to cover the Australia trip?0

 It's a holiday.
 Is there a time limit?
60 days a year or something? It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0

Can't disagree with any of that but we went by car to the Blue Mountains. Don't forget the trip up the tv tower but I think it has changed since we were there and not sure if you can just have a trip up anymore but it did have some good views.
You're probably aware of the area around Darling Harbour. The entertainment centre is in the area and I have seen 2 concerts there (eurythmics and the corrs) so could be worth checking to see what is on.
When you say TV tower, do you mean the tower at Westfield? We went up there in January this year, no flip flops allowed, my daughter's friend had to buy a pair of shoes! The views are stunning, good food & drinks served. Go just before sunset so you see the sun setting over the city. Also, when you arrive, buy an opal travel card, it's similar to an Oyster card for London travel but better. After 8 uses on either ferry, subway or buses after a Sunday, subsequent trips are free..we used out 8 trips by Wednesday so our Blue Mountains trip on the Thursday was free, look into it :j0

I think they would argue that you are not starting your trip to Australia from the UK therefore the policy doesn't cover you. As I say, you need to read the policy, and if necessary speak to the insurer to get definitive answers.0

Rather than drive back to Melbourne from Warnambool, why not just carry on to Adelaide? You're already about a third of the way there and by the time you return to Melbourne, hang around the airport and take the flight from Melbourne to Adelaide, I don't see any real time (or money) saving.
From Adelaide, you could consider a visit down the peninsula and a couple of nights at Kangaroo Island. Or if you like natural beauty and walking, check out the Flinders Ranges north of Adelaide. Adelaide is a very small city to spend a full week.0
