Anyone applied for a Mortgage through Natwest?
We've put all our documents in on Wednesday (3 months payslips + bank statements, P60, proof of deposit, proof of identification, gift letter) they've told us we will have to pay for valuation £250 roughly.
We had originally gone with Skipton but they undervalued the house (new build with Persimmons one of the last plots and the only one to be under valued
) So now we are trying with Natwest in hopes that that'll go through!!!!
We've requested they hold this until the underwriting is complete but not sure when they take the payment out?
Anyone used Natwest? any experiences?

I went through Natwest last year. The valuation fee was taken out after the underwriting was completed. It was a long 8 weeks waiting for the decision - I was elated when I found out the good news and knew I was finally getting my own place. Good luck to you sophscottx0

I got my mortgage through Natwest a few months ago. It was actually a quick and painless experience (apart from having to repeat the situation this year as the house I'd put an offer on last year fell through
all good though, this house is much better! :rotfl:)
Good luck! :beer:0 -
Thank you both!
It's great to hear such good experiences!
Hoping it's quite quick as feel like we've been waiting for all this forever and a day.
Just emailed my broker to check that the full application has been applied for and a quick update! I know it's early days but I'm so bad with my nerves and my patience ha!
Thanks guys!

I'm banking with NatWest and applied for mortgage directly to NatWest 5 years ago without broker, mortgage in principle given during 1st meeting, house found within month, mortgage application signed off and fully done with NatWest within 2 weeks since finding the house
Mortgage adviser from NatWest even let my husband to sign off the papers at home as we couldn't fit appointment together between our work schedules and bank opening times (we were together at 1st appointment) mortgage started 31st May 2011 -£59200
mortgage overpayment started July 2011

Thanks agiaga! We have our mortgage in principle, just waiting for them to approve the documents etc so they can start valuation! Pleased it sounds like they're quite good and quick! Hoping our valuation is fine this time!! Did your money come out straight away? They've not taken our money yet.
ACG did your client ask for valuation to be held? I hope so, mortgage advisor has just said they have 2 day turn around, I'm guessing that's just for checking, i'll have to wait for valuation before full offer?
Thanks for your help

It was a remortgage so theyre free.
IT doesnt matter about holding the valuation. You will still know if they have accepted subject to the valaution if they instruct the valuation. It should not alter the timescales for documents to be assessed.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. The valuation fee merely covers the third party charge the lender incurs. If the application doesn't proceed then the lender isn't out of pocket.
Might be the same surveyor that gets used. :eek:0 -
It's so frustrating!
We still haven't heard anything yet. Our broker is due to call us this afternoon with an update I think so hopefully we may hear something then.
If the same surveyor gets used I think I may have a breakdown. The thought of it makes me sick ha!

Our mortgage was approved with Natwest last week, fairly painless.
They take product fees etc early so as to process it quicker without needing to come back to you for approval to take the funds.
Most of it is refundable should the mortgage not happen, valuation fee would not be though.
Took them about 8 days from the day our full application was submitted.0
