Morning All

Raining again, getting a bit fed up now. I go back to work on Wednesday and just need 1 days sunshine before I go!

Had an appt at the kitchen place yesterday and I was bored after about 10 mins! Still it was all sorted, just need to think about it and decide if that's what I want. Had the usual 'if you order by Saturday we can do this price' talk, it didn't work!

Then spent a lovely afternoon at a friends, we had lunch then lounged about in her hot tub for about 4 hours, had a wee refreshment too. She has a really huge 'shed' set out like a summer house with the tub in complete with a bar. Good chat and good company and her OH brought me home.

Coffee at a neighbours this morning then off with friends to spend the night at a lodge about an hour away, they have the lodge as part of his work, would be rude to say no!

dumpling - enjoy your trip out, hope DH feels better soon.
Have a great holiday JackieO, safe journey.
csarina - take things easy, hope you get some help.
Thinking about you today Lainey.

Have a good Friday everyone. Take care. XX

Enjoy your holiday JackieO

I was exhausted by 11am yesterday. I woke up this morning feeling normal again, not sure what that was about.

My next door neighbour has some tall plants with yellow flowers in her garden – I think they're called Golden Glow? – and they've invaded my fruit corner. I've tried pulling them out but they seem to have massive roots, I'm going to have to dig down quite deep to remove them.

Apart from digging out those flowers, I haven't really got any solid plans for today. There are things that need doing and I want to keep busy, but can't seem to find any enthusiasm for any of it :D I'll just potter about, doing things as the mood takes me.

• Morning all!

It's been a while since I was last on here but our wedding is *just* around the corner and having paid the final bill I'm feeling very low on funds. As soon as the wedding is out of the way I've made plans to pay off the credit card as fast as possible so am back on here for everyone's fantastic OS knowledge!

In terms of our day both of us are off work and the weather is forecast to be nice so we're off to Lumsden Falls for a walk. It was difficult to get OH out of bed since we stayed up late last night so while he went to the loo I have seized the opportunity and stripped the bedding which needed to be done anyway. Loaded the machine only to realise we have run out of washing powder. A trip to lidl was planned for today anyway.

Hope everyone has a good day today! Looking forward to spending more time around these parts.

Have a fab day all X

good morning everyone.

this is the last day of my week off, and I haven't done much!

need to pack today for family holiday to spain tomorrow for a week - think we have everything, just a case of putting it all in suitcases!

my mum has been ill, so I'm trying to arrange for her to come and stay when we get back from spain - but she is not allowed to drive or carry heavy items, so, as we're about 250 miles away, and trains/coaches are useless, I think that as soon as we are home from spain, I've then got to drive for several hours to pick her up, and possibly turn straight round and drive home, as working the next day! I was hoping my brother could meet me half way or something ... but he's busy!

have a good day. xxx

Morning friends old and new

Csarina. Hope you get help.
JAckie-0 Rnjoy your hols.
((Hugs)) where needed.
I've missing for quite some time, life is good with us, but I needed to rant about my.DS's house move. We had our gorgeous GD towards the end of June , and the flat is really just too small for them. They have had 3 buyers and 3 sellers pull, out, they have a FTBuyer for the flat now, and a house which is ideal, agreed a £2k reduction for a 4 week exchange, now into week 5, every T crossed and I dotted them insisted on, and so expecting to sign today, they advise they do not have a mortgage offer yet, this dispite paying for several, extra surveys, electric, gas, etc., Steam is now coming out of DSs ears, and DDIL is trying to cope, 2 floors up and having to have a. Emergency Cessarian with 5 steep steps from the house to the ground, she cannot get the Pram down on her own. The EA is being useless, and this is one of the "proper" ones, think if I move it will be with one of he cheaper ones, as you still have to chase around yourself.
They are coming up to see us on Sunday & Monday for my birthday, hoping to celebrate exchanging with them!
Sorry to use you for the rant, but needed to get it off my chest.

Take care everyone, DG

DG

That is such a maddening situation to be in!!! I hope it gets sorted out soon. Have a fantastic birthday on Monday.

Builders are here finishing off the last few jobs and are painting the garden trellis and sheltered area for me. Some parcels are due for my dds so hope I don't miss them. I also ordered a new chest of drawers for my bedroom and a shelf tower on wheels that will fit in the upstairs bathroom and save space for toiletries etc.

The builders have just given me a box of chocolates and a card for my birthday tomorrow which was really sweet of them. My DDs are planning to come over tomorrow for my birthday but not sure if they might make a surprise visit tonight as well so have cooked a chicken and have new potatoes for potato salad just in case.

Fingers and toes crossed that you get help.

Dumpling

Enjoy seeing your friend and well done on the stocking up.

I just gave my older dd my food processor as I don't really use it and still need to sort out the new kitchen. I also posted some bits and pieces of a juicer to a cousin as I came across them by accident and thought I had included everything.

There are now velux blinds on all the slanting windows upstairs so let's hope family find it more comfortable now.

Hugs to all

• Well the day did not get any better. DB announced after his lunch that he felt he was passing out. I had to physically haul him from the sitting room to the bed room and roll him onto the bed. Thank goodness we are all on one floor I would never have got him up the stairs. If he had passed out he would have taken me with him to the floor, It would have needed the ambulance to get us both up. I have decided I have to wear the pendant so I can summon help.

Nothing from social services as yet, why am I not surprised??? Red Cross are coming with something to help him get out of bed, thats not what I asked for I need a folding side so he does not fall out of bed, if he fell onto the floor we would have to dismantle the bedroom to get him up into bed. I am really fed up. I gave him his injection no problem he is now sitting up playing on the I pad.

Keeping him in bed until after supper, he can get up then for a couple of hours before we both hit the hay.

I think you wearing the pendant so you can call for help is a really good idea. Have you thought of contacting PALS about the way he was discharged from hospital with no real diagnosis or treatment?

Would like something like a zimmer frame to hold onto help? It is forecast to be a heatwave soon so that will not help either. Is he drinking enough fluids do you think?

Hugs

Hi Elona, I take it you have managed to move, did you get a bungalow? I feel about coming in to rant, but always felt safe here. I used to feel a bit of a frUd though, as though do cook from scratch, and a bit of. Tight a$$ financially we are in a good place, and can do anything we want to do IYKWIM, but we don't have real, extravagent tastes. New we are Grandparents, I feel even more we need to,be nearer, as when they move to Surrey, we will be about 5 hours away. Don't want to be on their doorstep, which is a good job, as even with one 3 bed detached bungalow, here and the Spanish villa, we cannot look in Surrey. We are off to Portsmouth with our tourer for the BH so will look on the south coast then. Anyone suggest any nice villages south of Surrey??
Csarina. Try getting hold of your local councillor, they may be able to get things going. Wearing your pendant definitely sounds like. Good plan.

Take care DG
