Not all Credit card companies hard credit check you?

I have noticed that capital one from whom I recently got a "bad credit score" credit card done no hard credit check on me but only a soft one and I got the card.

I thought all companies hard check you.

Is what happened normal?

Have you checked all three credit reference agencies?

It could be that they soft searched the one you looked at and did a full search on another?

You need to check all the CRA mate. Capital one will first soft search you to know if you will be accepted and do hard search if you continue with the application.

I agree with OP. Capital One soft checked me and performed no hard search. I was finding it hard to get any credit due to not having any credit. Got my Capital one card and off I went.
