Toshiba Battery life is poor

I have a small Toshiba Portege R830-1JV Notebook. The battery seems to die just after about 90 minutes. I do use the notebook for my work in client's homes so it is essential to have a sound battery. I leave home with a fully charged computer every day so I'm guessing I need a more powerful battery? The unit is 13 months old so out of warranty. Is there any electrical peeps out there than can suggest the right type/size of battery to keep the unit working for say an 8 hour period. Thanks

Toshiba do an extended battery pack for this model however it does make the unit a little heavier and bulkier at the back ..
Here is a link for demonstration purposes

Im sure you will be able to find a local supplier with a bit of googling but beware of buying batteries off ebay, they are usually fake0 -

Might be worth you going into power settings and tweaking if you feel confident, It won't extend the life to what you want, but should help eek out what you can, a basic guide here:

The Toshiba likely has it's own power management utility.
The issue is more likely to do with the machine being a refurb and the battery being four years old.
A new battery should make a difference.
Also, very easy to add an SSD to that machine. Two to three minutes should do it and as little as £35.
OP should create recovery media and of course have a back up of important data.
Important to have a snappy machine if dealing in real time with clients. Utilising an SSD will facilitate snappiness
