Aluminium windows trickle vents

hopefully one of you DIY'er can point me in the right direction; I would like to install a trickle vent to improve ventilation though the window frame is an old style aluminium, like this one:

Would I be able to do it myself or would I need to call someone?
uPVC windows seem easier to have trickle vents fitted, this aluminium one has limited frame.
I know the window is old and will need to be replaced within the next 2 years so would like to do it on the cheap side.
Thank you
